Core Finance Co explores what’s possible with Salestrekker 2.0

After five years using Salestrekker, Core Finance Co has moved to the completely rebuilt Salestrekker 2.0 platform – giving its brokers better visibility, a stronger client experience and new opportunities to improve the way the business operates.

Core Finance Co is led by Founder Carl Matera, with Operations Manager Matt Fleming overseeing the platform’s day-to-day use across a busy team of 12 brokers. Core Finance Co provides mortgage broking whilst also partnering with Carl’s independent conveyancing and accounting businesses, with a focus on building lasting client relationships through professional, tailored and streamlined support.

While Salestrekker supported the business for several years, the move to Salestrekker 2.0 has delivered a positive improvement in functionality and usability.

“It is a completely different system, so it took some getting used to,” Matt said. “But once the team started using it regularly and could see the benefits, it became a lot easier and quicker to submit deals.”

A better experience for brokers and clients

One of the biggest changes has been the redesigned client portal. Brokers can now ask clients to enter their own information before a meeting, allowing the conversation to focus on verifying details and understanding what the client wants to achieve.

According to Matt, this can save around 10 to 15 minutes on a dual-applicant file, while also reducing manual data entry and creating a smoother experience for both the broker and the client.

“Instead of asking every question and writing everything down, the client has already entered the information,” he said. “The broker can confirm it, move on and spend more time on the actual lending conversation.”

Exploring the ‘plus more’

Core Finance Co is also beginning to explore the broader capabilities available within Salestrekker 2.0, including AI-generated notes, the Renaming Tool, automations and tailored workflows.

Carl has already found value in the platform’s AI capabilities, particularly for more straightforward lending scenarios.

“The AI analytics are phenomenal,” Carl said. “It generates a strong starting point and helps the broker build their notes much more efficiently.”

The business is taking a considered approach to adopting these newer tools. With a high-volume team, each capability needs to be tested and incorporated into existing processes without disrupting deal flow.

Looking ahead, Core Finance Co sees an opportunity to use workflows and automations to strengthen client retention, prompt regular loan reviews and create more consistent follow-up across the business.

As Matt explained, “Salestrekker 2.0 does everything we need it to do – plus more. We are now working through how to make the most of that ‘plus more’.”
